Andy Murray Withdraws from Dubai Open 2011 Posted: 17 Feb 2011 07:58 AM PST Andy Murray, the 23 year- old Britain, has withdrawn from the Dubai open 2011, due to a wrist injury. Andy Murray , the two-time Australian Open finalist has withdrawn from the next week ATP event in Dubai, due to a wrist injury. Murry (seeded no.5); the British no.1 player will miss the next week Dubai open, which will be held from 21st February, 2011. Murray, after losing the Australian open final against Novak Djokovic by 6-4, 6-2, 6-3, has played in the Rotterdam Open a week later. However, he lost to Marcos Baghdatis in Holland in the first round of the Rotterdam Open. It was according to the Murray website, that as he is suffering from the wrist injury, he said that, he would be missing the Dubai Open and would like to apologize to both the tournament and its fans. Andy Murray, the world no.5, has been defeated by Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia in the second round of the Dubai Open 2010 and was criticized for revealing that he had been underprepared for the tournament and had experimented with tactics. Andy Murray will play his next match in the Masters Series in Indian Wells in mid-March. |
