Michael Carrick with Manchester United’s new deal Posted: 04 Mar 2011 05:27 AM PST Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has signed a new three-year deal, which will keep the England international at Old Trafford until the end of the 2013/14 season. Michael Carrick (29 year-old), midfielder moved to Old Trafford before the 2006/07 season, sold by Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol for a fee worth up to £14 million confirmed by United’s chief executive David Gill.
Carrick has gone on to win 3 Premier League titles as well as the Carling Cup, Club World Cup and Champions League. Initially a West Ham trainee, Carrick has made 307 Premier League appearances in the 1999/2000 season, 142 of that have come with Manchester United. Now, he is planning for the Champions League final to face Chelsea in Moscow on Wednesday night. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson stated he is very much delighted that Carrick has signed a new contract with them. He has been an excellent source since joining us from Tottenham in 2006 year, he is a true specialized in football and it is great that he has dedicated his future to the club. Carrick stated, they are in excellent position at the moment and he is certainly positive about his team and says will be thriving for many years to come. |
