| Jeremy Shockey Signs One Year Contract with Carolina Panthers Posted: 08 Mar 2011 07:57 AM PST Jeremy Shockey has singed a one year contract with the Carolina Panthers, which worth's $3 million, with $1 million guaranteed. The contract includes $812,500 roster bonus and no signing bonus, making it team and salary cap friendly. Shockey was released last week by New Orleans Saints and was received significance from the Miami Dolphins. However, on Thursday, Shockey signed on one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. Shockey wrote on his Face book page that, this is a great opportunity and he is excited to play football and it is the time for the next chapter. Shockey, the 6-foot-5inch and 251 pounds, has made the Pro Bowl in four of his first five seasons in the NFL with the New York Giants, but he also was known for hasty comments and argument with Coach Tom Coughlin. Earlier in 2008, Shockey has traded under New Orleans, where he has caught a key touchdown pass in the Saints’ Super Bowl victory one year later. However, Shockey, due to was suffering with injuries all the three seasons in New Orleans, and the Saints cut him loose with $4.2 million due to him in 2011, the final year of his deal. |
