China drought will have impact on global environment Posted: 03 Jun 2011 04:41 AM PDT The areas of eastern China and central China the lack of water sources has dried up, even the lake like Honghu have turned into dry lands where the mud was exposed. The livelihoods of stranded boats and dying fish farms have made questionable for the residents in Hubei Province who call this their 'land of fish and rice'. Dry patches of land in the lakes are observed in the various parts of China nearly every year. But the officials are never seen this scarcity of water levels to such extent and it is worst in 50 years or may be even longer. The people who living around the sea and depending on them will have find out the new source for their livelihood. As per the information provided by the reports the drought could last for months as the lakes were dried up and the land was wide opened in the lakes. The major river like Yangtze and many other lakes and tributaries along the mighty river’s course through farming and industrial heartlands were also lacking water. The senior people of the country feel that they have never seen the drought this bad. They were digging wells and buying our drinking water, actually they have plenty of water to drink in this part of the world they usually worry about floods, not droughts. The world's second-biggest economy country China is relying heavily on strained water resources to feed its people and power rapidly increasing numbers of hydro stations. Those problems could deepen if rains fail to arrive soon. |
Will Federer end Djokovic’s winning streak in French Open 2011 Posted: 03 Jun 2011 12:39 AM PDT Former World No.1, Roger Federer is aiming to end the 43 matches winning streak of Novak Djokovic at the French Open Semi Final clash at Rolland Garros at Paris. The 16 time Grand Slam title winner is in supreme form at the French Open 2011, he is very strong at clay as everyone knows. But his dominance over years has been flattened down in recent times where, Federer is failing to go pass the challenge of Djokovic or Nadal in the big matches. Novak Djokovic remains undefeated in this year so far with winning streak of 41 matches, where he also won two matches in last season total in tally to that he has winning streak of 43-0. Novak Djokovic has advanced to the semis by a walk over in the quarterfinals, Djokovic has also defeated Federer in previous clashes the year. The World No.2 is gaining in confidence after defeating Rafael Nadal in two straight finals. However, this time pressure is shifted to the Djokovic to continue his winning streak and cruise into the finals of French Open 2011 to face winner of other semi-final match between Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal. Roger Federer feels he has slight advantage facing Djokovic in the semis is that World No.2 will be feeling pressure and he need to capitalize on that. Federer has been totally different player in the Rolland Garros where he has overcome all the challenges and just two wins away to clinch his 17 Grand Slam Title. Apple gains control over iCloud domain Posted: 02 Jun 2011 09:39 PM PDT Apple has gained the control over the iCloud.com domain, a week before Apple is slated to release a cloud based storage system. The iCloud domain was previously owned by Sweden-based 'hybrid cloud computing' named Xcerion, it was rumored that they have been sold out to Apple $4.5 million. Xcerion moved its cloud-based storage service from iCloud.com to CloudMe.com in April. However, iCloud.com currently redirects to CloudMe.com The officials of Apple haven't responded to comment on this. The Cupertino, California based company announced that, it will shoot out the details of iCloud at Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on Monday. Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple who is on medical leave will be available for the announcement. Surprisingly Apple did not provide any information or details about iCloud in the announcement made yesterday. As per the sources, Apple executives have spoken to the top four recording companies about plans to offer a free streaming music service to consumers without any charges. The company has underwent the research of licensing the agreement with top four recording companies includes EMI Music, Warner Music, and Sony Music. Apple has left out Universal Music Group, but the firm is confident that Universal media will make a deal. Apple will be launching fully licensed cloud music service with the license agreement made and now the firm can compete with its rivals of Amazon and Google. Google had been talks from past one year with top four largest record companies to obtain the license; they have launched a test version earlier this month without licensing agreements in place. Amazon has chosen the same plan when they launched its cloud music service in March. Apple filed for the trademark rights of iCloud in the European Union office under the name of Trade Marks and Designs. |
