India might play the ODI tour of West Indies without the senior players including Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh. India will tour West Indies in early June. India has won the ICC World Cup 2011 with a great passion. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has proved himself to be captain cool for leading his side to taste the World Cup victory. The dream of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has come true after 21 years of his cricket career. With his classic batting and his unbeaten records, he has added his full potential to make India win the World Cup.
Besides Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan who are likely to skip off the tour, Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag is likely to miss the entire tour in order to regain his full fitness. Sources stated that there are written letters submitted to the BCCI by the senior who want to take some rest to the West Indies tour expressing their aspiration to skip the tour and to be fit enough for the crucial tours of England and Australia, later in the year. Team India has hectic schedule during this year, after their completion of the currently ongoing Indian Premier League. After the tour of West Indies, India will tour to England and plays four test matches, one Twenty20 and five ODI's. The England tour will commence from July 21st and lasts till September 16th 2011. In November, England will tour to India and West Indies follows after England for three tests and five ODI's. India will then tour to Australia for a high-profile series during December and lasts till January. If the senior players take some rest and give the opportunity for the youngsters who were doing a fantastic job in the ongoing Indian Premier League might have some chance to prove in the International standard format. The players who likely have chance to play include Ambati Rayudu of the Mumbai Indians and Paul Valthaty of the Kings XI Punjab. The team may be led by the Yuvraj Singh who has been in a terrific form since ICC World Cup 2011 and continuing it in the IPL. He is also named as the Player of the Tournament in the World Cup. The Chief Administrative Officer of BCCI, Ratnakar Shetty stated that he was not aware about the senior players who were in need to skip the ODI series against West Indies. He added that without awareness he cannot make a comment on it. Besides this, it is said that few senior players would pull out of the series and they might submit a written letter to the BCCI in due course of time. |
