Legendry Icon Elizabeth Taylor is No More

The legendary actress, Elizabeth Taylor died on Wednesday due to heart failure. She died at the age of 79. Elizabeth was in Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for several weeks in Los Angeles and died on 23rd March surrounded by her four children. She once quoted that she wanted her tombstone to read the words 'She Lived'. She is a style icon who has become so devalued in the recent years. She is one among the few women who is truly having an iconic look.

Elizabeth Taylor was born on February 27th, 1932. During her career, she became most famous for her ten greatest movies. She is very singular in her passion and fashion. During the age in 50's, she was selected as the Most Beautiful Woman in the World and also holds the record for appearing mostly, apparently eleven times in the cover page of the Life magazine. In her complete life career, she went through eight marriages, gallons of eyeliner, special glamorous looks, billions of dollars of diamonds and in fact a Hollywood star to the core.

The ten greatest films in Taylor's career are 'Father of the Bride', 'Little Women', 'Raintree County', 'National Velvet', 'The taming of the Shrew', 'Suddenly, Last Summer', 'A Place in the Sun', 'Butterfield 8', 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof', 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf'. In these movies she got Academy Awards for the films, 'Butterfield 8' in 1960 and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' in 1966.

Her career came to an end during 1963 when she began an affair in the sets of Cleopatra with her future husband, Richard Burton. No one in the beauty industry has worn black eye kohl better than the violet-eyes Elizabeth Taylor. One of her biographers, David Heymann said that Elizabeth Taylor is immortal as long as people speak about Hollywood. He added that she was an 80-year comet. David is the author of 'Liz: An Intimate Biography of Elizabeth Taylor'.

Tributes were paid from across the world of film, entertainment, charity and music. A veteran film maker, Michael Winner said that Taylor was the last of the great glamorous stars. Since 1985 she has been funding the American Foundation for Aids Research which was one of the leading non-profit organizations for Aids. She nearly invested $250 million for the organization. The director of her film 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf', Mike Nichols said the death of Elizabeth Taylor was not only for her beauty, but also for her generosity.
