The NASA engineers and scientists offer two newly developed NASA flight scheme to give an opportunity to interact with nationwide students and teachers.

In Virginia, this program was developed at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. They have designed to give students and teachers practical flight experiences using NASA sounding rockets and scientific balloons.

"NASA Offers Flight Skills"The WRATS will provide high school applicant with a technical flight experience to emphasize the engineering, technology, science and mathematics concepts. Teachers and students will take part in person, practical experiences based on NASA’s sounding rocket engineering and science statistics collection.

WRATS will comprise interactive Web based data to give students and teachers lessons in engineering and physics. Teachers also get resources to add the data into classroom lessons.

Selected participants in other NASA learning projects will have the opportunity to attend a rocketry flight week June 19 – 24, at Wallops. Participants will study about the dynamics of launch, safe flight functions and view a NASA Terrier Orion sounding rocket lift-off on 23rd June 2011.

This program has flown various missions linking hundreds of students in under-graduate though post-graduate programs, since 2002. WBEE will enlarge the LaACES phase into secondary education with a focus on center principles and future partnership with teachers and their institutions.
